Moneyline vs. -0.5 Runline

Pardon my ignorance, but I don't see what the difference is between the Moneyline and the -0.5 Runline. If you bet the Moneyline and the match ends in a tie or the team you bet for loses, you lose your bet. If you bet the -0.5 Runline and the match ends in a tie or the team you bet for loses, you lose your bet.

What is the difference here?

I quess your are talking about Pinnacle's lines?

Yes, you are right there's no difference between those lines.

I think talking about Moneylines, when there is a draw possibility, is wrong. I think it should be called 3-WAY LINE, or something like that.

ML's are used in Asian handicaps only in soccer, and if the result is a tie bettors get their money back, as in ice hockey ML.

One thing I've never understood is why Pinnacle offers different odds on fav depending if its SPREAD or MONEYLINE.

Chelsea SPREAD -0.5 1.962
Chelsea MONEYLINE 1.870

Bettor must be an idiot, if he wants to bet Chelsea ML 1.870 at Pinnacle, because SPREAD pays 1.962 and the bet is same. Favorite must win the game.

Thanks faceless. Good to point out the difference between the ML where the tie gives you your money back and the ML where a tie is a losing bet (such as a 3-way line).

Pinnacle's juice is much lower on the handicaps, that's why you see the difference in price. Furthermore, I would think they have way more volume on the handicaps therefore moving them more.
